Singer-songwriter Jill Scott sat down for an interview with Black Hollywood Live to speak on her role in the Lifetime original movie, ‘With this Ring’. The film stars three amazing actresses, Jill Scott, Regina Hall and Eve Jeffers Cooper. The three single friends make a vow to get married within a year after going to a best friend’s wedding. The movie is based on the bestseller, ‘The Vow’ written by Denene Millner, Angela Burt-Murray and Mitzi Miller. The film also stars Brooklyn Sudano, NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, Stephen Bishop, Jason George and Brian White. The romantic comedy is written and directed by Nzingha Stewart, produced by Sony Pictures Television. The Executive producers are Tracey E. Edmonds and Gabrielle Union in her first producing role.

In her interview, Scott discussed her process when it comes to making her music and how she wanted to take her time with her new album “The Light of the Sun”: “I’ve always looked to empower my fans through my message of love, independence and strength.”

She also gave Black Hollywood Live an exclusive insight about some of the talents she feels are amazing artists and individuals: “I love Azealia Banks, her, her music and tweets!”

In her interview, Scott gave fans a slight look into her dating life and the attitude of her ideal man: “Oh, I date! I like a confident man and someone who is not focused on my fame or career.”
