What's This?

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 3, 2008

Smashing Katie is pleased to announce the launch of “Smashing Katie’s Breakup Stories”–a new website (http://www.stories.smashingkatie.com) for women to read, rank, and publish their own smashing breakup stories for the world to enjoy.

The holiday season is a time for love, joy, being thankful for wonderful people in your life, and fostering budding relationships that ooze long-term possibility. Is he the one, finally? Is she the woman of my dreams? It is a season when single folks get caught up in the attention, affection, and potential our future mate holds that we just don’t see straight. And it is wonderful, until the budding relationship ends during the holiday season.

SmashingKatie.com is pleased to launch Smashing Katie’s Breakup Stories – a new socially powered website (http://www.stories.smashingkatie.com) where single folks can share holiday angst by reading, ranking, and publishing their own dating and breakup adventures. From the intimate to the outlandish, women can simply click on the arrows to rank favorites or even submit her own fabulous tales or dating woes for others to enjoy. So take a seat and watch the train wreck with bleachers…the world is waiting to hear from us broken hearted gals!

Founder Angela Schmidt is also responsible for creating Smashing Katie- an online gift retail store devoted to breakups and divorces. SmashingKatie.com spawned when her husband of 7 years had an affair with the next door neighbor and friend, aptly named Katie. Since the launch of SmashingKatie.com in September 2007, Schmidt has received thousands of letters of support commending her drive for success and independence, creative spirit, and entrepreneurial smarts.

Schmidt states, “This new venue allows the public to express feelings about their own breakups and divorces. We wanted to create a way for anyone and everyone to share thoughts in a healthy way, become inspired, and heal that broken heart.”

Best of all, Smashing Katie’s Breakup Stories is launched by Schmidt’s own breakup story that happened Thanksgiving 2008. Entitled, Getting Dumped on Thanksgiving Causes Tourette’s Syndrome, Schmidt published her own tale of getting a phone call from her guy at 8am, waking her up, on Thanksgiving morning only to have him breakup with her.

Realizing there have to be others like her, Schmidt states, “I figure relationships will just work themselves out, yet I proceed blindfolded whilst running face-first into walls. As a fine way to kick off the 2008 holiday season, this particular Thanksgiving breakup was too surreal and comical to keep to myself. And whammo, Smashing Katie Breakup Stories was born Thanksgiving 2008!”

Smashing Katie contends there is something soothing about knowing lots of people are going though the same horrible ordeal during this holiday season. Smashing Katie’s Breakup Stories is a way for the broken hearted to share sentiments with others that truly understand. Whether she simply wants to read and rank stories written by others, or contribute her own – women can check out the site, know she is not alone, get a good belly-aching laugh, and heal that wounded heart in the process.

About Smashing Katie:

As featured in Time Magazine, The Morning Show With Mike & Juliet, San Francisco Chronicle, Deutschland Financial Times, and more, http://www.SmashingKatie.com spawned from a relationship where our Katie never apologized for her part in a breakup. We give a special thanks to her for being so horrible that she in turn inspired SmashingKatie.com – the new source for super cheeky, very unique, and ever so clever breakup and divorce gifts that un-break hearts.
