Ottawa Canada (PRWEB) July 20, 2012

Ottawa (July 20 2012) – Macadamian, a global leader in user experience design and software development, today announced CEO Frederic Boulanger, has been selected as a Quebec finalist for Ernst & Young’s 2012 Entrepreneur Of The Year in the Technology and Communications category.

Entrepreneur Of The Year celebrates the contribution and spirit of entrepreneurs everywhere. Award finalists are chosen based on their vision, leadership, financial success and social responsibility. More than 300 entries were reviewed by an independent judging panel composed of distinguished business leaders and previous award recipients.

“Being honored as a finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year is particularly meaningful to me because it recognizes the importance of social responsibility,” notes Macadamian CEO Frederic Boulanger. “Along with the success we’ve had building Macadamian into a world-class software design and development services company we’ve always placed an emphasis on giving back to the community and fostering healthy lifestyles for our employees.”

For nearly 20 years, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards have celebrated countless entrepreneurs in Canada and around the world who have triumphed over adversity and built successful, game-changing ventures.

“It’s important to highlight all the potential our entrepreneurs harness and share with our markets and communities,” explains Francois Dufresne, Partner at Ernst & Young and Québec Director of Entrepreneur of the Year. “Rewarding successful entrepreneurs’ means recognizing not only their contribution to the economy, but also the well-being of our society.”

The accolades from Ernst & Young follow similar recognition for both Mr. Boulanger and Macadamian. In May, Mr. Boulanger was invited to participate in QuantumShift, a leadership development program founded by the Richard Ivey School of Business and KPMG Enterprise, designed to take Canada’s most promising entrepreneurial enterprises to the next level of success. In April, Macadamian was listed as a top “mover and shaker” and one of the top 5 mobile technology companies within the 2012 Edition of the Branham300, Canada’s definitive listing of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry leaders.
