What's This?

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) April 09, 2013

Splashtop Inc., the worldwide leader in cross-device collaboration and remote access, announced the release of Splashtop 2 for Windows RT. Business and personal users of Microsoft Surface tablets will now be able to access their computers either in a LAN environment or remotely via the Internet, enabling them to remotely run applications, view and edit files, watch HD movies and play graphic-intensive games.

“Microsoft is excited to see Splashtop 2, the popular remote desktop software from Splashtop, released for Windows 8,” said Dave Miller, Sr. Director of Marketing at Microsoft. “Our teams have cooperated closely for several months, enabling Splashtop to optimize its software for Surface tablets and all Windows 8 devices. With Snap view and multi-tasking support, it’s especially easy to cut and paste content between remote and local computers.”

“There are already over 13 million satisfied customers using Splashtop 2 and Splashtop for Business on their tablets, smartphones and PCs,” said Mark Lee, CEO and co-founder of Splashtop, Inc. “Now, with Splashtop 2 for Windows RT, once again we’re first to market, leading the industry in providing the highest performance remote desktop software for the latest hardware platform.”

For customers to get started with Splashtop 2, the only configuration needed to connect to a computer is a user name and password. There is no need to configure routers or firewalls, or to manually enter IP addresses or security codes. With the Splashtop Anywhere Access Pack, available via in-app purchase, the same simple process lets users connect to their devices reliably from anywhere in the world, over the Internet.

In addition, the app has self-optimizing technology that adapts to the conditions of the network, enabling the user to take full advantage of the bandwidth of a 3G or 4G network or Internet connection. In addition to protecting user data through its proprietary Bridging Cloud, Splashtop deploys industry-standard encryption technology to maintain a high level of security.
