About Orbit’s Odyssey
Orbit’s Odyssey is a game that re-imagines the puzzle genre through space-time oddities. It’s an unrivalled source for entertainment geared to up the player’s game cred, simultaneously. They will get to sharpen their ability to strategize, think on their feet and move quickly. Each level requires them to use logic, skill, creativity and will.
It’s also a perfect blend of art and gameplay, designed to visually delight the players while testing their strategic and reflexive skills.
Game Goals + Features + USP
The goal of the game is to lead the humanoid cookie (hero) to find his space-boy alter ego – Orbit, in this deceptively simple strategy game. The gameplay consists of the following elements, where players:
Avoid the menacing army of attacking, replicating monsters.
Use their brains and fingers to transport the hero via planet portals.
Tap, roll & release to collect dough + gems in every level.
Earn stars for their efforts.
Have heaps of fun traversing through 6 stunningly gorgeous new worlds.
Orbit’s Odyssey is fun and rewarding to play, as it’s a mash-up of a whole lot of characteristics – novelty, quirkiness, exciting challenges, visual stimulation, and immense fun! It tests the player’s cleverness and gives them a deep sense of gratification when they grab the green gem and see who Orbit is at the 90th level.
The game’s uniqueness quotient is particularly high – the player’s will be amazed by how a simple one-touch control can yield many variations – in terms of the speed, roll direction, and teleportation. This aims to give both sides of the player’s brain, and their playing finger, a great workout.
Team + Quotes
paperkyte assembled a diverse and high-caliber team of artists, animators, game designers and developers to deliver Orbit’s Odyssey to global mobile audiences.
The artists focused on an art driven gaming experience. Bryan Lashelle, the Art Director of Orbit’s Odyssey, known for his contributions in animation blockbuster movies such as Sherman and Peabody and Book of Life says ‘For the look we were heavily influenced by old sci-fi pop art, movies, and early space exploration. We wanted to incorporate backgrounds that felt like there was dimension and depth to them. This made the game more of an immersive experience, and not just an action puzzler.’
paperkyte’s Co.Founder and Game Designer, Pramod Modi Shantharam says ‘Our mission is to wow audiences with next level casual mobile games. Orbit’s Odyssey is a boundary pusher in terms of uniqueness of both its gameplay and visuals. We are certain audiences would lap this up and play repeatedly for their entertainment’.
Orbit’s Odyssey is free to play, and offers exciting in-app buys. It can be downloaded from the App Store on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. An Android version is coming soon!
